The brain interprets the difference and reconstructs information about brightness, color, and length, width, and depth.
Currently, several technologies exist side by side in the field of 3D. Stereoscopic viewing is the most widely used technology. As mentioned above, it requires a dual-focus camera and polarized glasses that alternate between left and right viewing to allow the depth of the image to be perceived. Fortunately, today’s spectacles are not as good as those that were common in the last century.
Anaglyph glasses with red and blue lenses have been replaced by “high-tech” devices. These glasses can capture dozens of images per second, one for the right eye and one for the left eye, thanks to an infrared-controlled LCD shutter. However, these passive glasses, powerful as they are, can be perceived as a brake by viewers who suffer from headaches and visual fatigue, or who complain of insufficiently bright images.
